Bush - GOP Friend of Gays

Pressure by the homosexual community on the Bush Administration appears to be paying off.  The Washington Blade, D.C.'s largest gay newspaper, ran a review of President Bush's record, saying:
Since taking office...this president has amassed a record on gay and AIDS issues that is historic for his party.  His administration has made foury gay appointments, including a gay ambassador who moved into the U.S. Embassy...with his gay partner.  A popular political operative who worked closely with gay political groups during the presidential campaign became White House counselor to the president and a high-level advisor to the vice president....  The president signed a bill allowing domestic partners to register their relationships in the nation's capital, ending a nine-year federal policy blocking this local ordinance from taking effect.
