Tribute to Ed Frami

TO:        Constitution Party National Committee, State Chairmen, and Other Key Leaders

From:     Jim Clymer, National Chairman

It is with profound sadness that I write to inform you of the death of Ed Frami, Vice-Chairman of the Constitution Party.

Ed suffered a massive stroke on September 2, 2003, and died yesterday, September 12th, at 6:10pmCDT.

God sends us men like Ed as a reminder when our Christianity falls short of complete fullness. Ed was a deeply Christian man. He never lost his composure, his kindness, or his helpfulness. Despite all of his many accomplishments and his positions of leadership, he was always humble. Ed listened and considered. He had no guile. He was a man who truly had the Sermon on the Mount written on his heart, and on the purely personal level to lose him is devastating.

I can hardly put words to what his loss means to our cause. He was a tireless laborer, who gave limitlessly of himself. He built the Constitution Party of Wisconsin to the point that it could be turned over to capable new leadership. He served on the Constitution Party National Committee’s Executive Committee, and never missed a meeting of the National Committee. He started Live Free or Die Campaign Supply because it helped the presidential campaign and the party to do so – certainly not because he expected it to return much profit. He ran for office, and encouraged others to do so, again and again, because he knew it was the right way to build the party. During his last campaign for Secretary of State, Ed dedicated himself to the task full time for almost two years. He often traveled to neighboring states to help them organize. He drove all across Wisconsin manning booths at county fairs to spread the word about the Constitution Party. Ed served on many important committees and as chairman of numerous. Most recently he served as Chairman of the Standing Platform Committee, and the Campaign Strategies Committee, and on the Budget Oversight Committee.

Ed is irreplaceable. Always, always onward and upward, he was unflagging in his devotion and self-sacrifice. Our country, our cause, our unborn innocents, and decency itself have lost a most noble champion.

Please pray for Ed’s family. His mother Clare and three brothers, Michael, Matthew and Steven survive him.

Please also remember that the greatest tribute we can pay Ed is to rededicate ourselves to the cause he held so dear.

Ed's funeral will take place On Wednesday, September 17th  at 7pm at Pagenkopt Funeral Home, 1165 Summit Avenue, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Visitation will be prior to that from 3pm to 7pm. Ed's mother, Clare Frami, has said that she will need help with the funeral expenses and has asked people to consider sending a gift rather than flowers. Information will follow on where gifts may be sent. Clare Frami's address is 194 Wilson Avenue, Dousman, WI 53118.
