Institute on the Constitution

What is the Institute on the Constitution?

It is not a permanent institute based at a single location.  Rather, it is a series of sessions conducted in local areas across the state of North Carolina.  Sessions are held once per week for twelve weeks and last about ninety minutes each.

What is the Institute’s purpose?

Its purpose is to help individuals in communities across North Carolina and America to regain their lost liberties by understanding and passing on to their children the fundamental principles on which our Constitutional Republic was founded.

What is the format for these sessions?

The focal point of each session is a thirty-minute video lecture by Dr. John Eidsmoe, professor of constitutional law at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama.  There are review questions to reinforce the concepts taught, and there are probing discussion questions.  During many of the sessions, current events in light of our Constitution are also discussed.

What will I learn by attending?

You will not be learning any revisionist history that has attempted to rewrite the history of our nation and its founding principles.  Instead, you’ll learn about the following:

  1. A Biblical View of History, Law and Government

  2. The Discovery, Settlement and Evangelization of America

  3. The Religious Beliefs of the Founding Fathers

  4. The Philosophical Worldview of the Founding Fathers

  5. 1776-1789: From Independence to the Constitution

  6. Overview of the Constitution: Preamble & Article 1

  7. Overview of the Constitution: Articles 2 & 3

  8. Overview of the Constitution: Articles 4, 5, 6 & 7

  9. The Bill of Rights: The First Amendment

  10. Overview of the Constitution: Amendments 2 Through 27

  11. The Crisis of the Constitution: From Biblical Absolutes to Evolutionary Humanism

  12. Reclaiming the Constitution: A Victory Plan for Restoring Our Constitutional Heritage

What do I need to attend this Institute?

If an Institute is announced in your area, apart from a modest fee to cover the cost of the materials, all that’s needed on your part is a teachable spirit and faithfulness to attend the sessions and participate in the discussion.  You will be provided with a notebook, the materials, and the training.

How much does the Institute cost?

The Institute enrollment fee is $30.00 per individual and $45.00 per married couple.  Even at the individual rate, this is only $2.50 per session – unbeatable by any standard.  The session host donates his time to this Institute, and no one benefits personally from the enrollment fees.  All fees pay for the materials received and for the costs involved in having the Institute.

When does the Institute begin and how do I sign up?

The Institute does not operate on a set schedule at this time.  When there is sufficient interest in your area, an Institute will be announced and dates, times and location made known.  At that time, registration forms will be available to sign up for the Institute.

What if I want to have one in my area?  How do I register my interest?

We recommend that people contact the state office of the Constitution Party of North Carolina at the number below.  Let us know that you or your group are interested in having an Institute in your area.

It may not always be possible for the Constitution Party of North Carolina to supply session hosts for the Institute.  Therefore, you may wish to consider being an Institute host.  You do not need to know all about the Institute or the materials to be a host.  The host’s main function is to lead the learning of all the attendees.  The host will learn right along with everyone else.

In any case, please contact the party office.  The number is .
